Masturbation

do not disturb sign on door

Many men and women masturbated when they were teenagers. Many men and women still masturbate even when they are in committed loving relationships.

Many women still need to be externally stimulated to have an orgasm; indeed some women can only reach orgasm if they masturbate either during sex or at another time.

Effects of masturbation
Blindness, madness, deafness, baldness, eternal damnation and various other curses have been promised through the ages on people (particularly men) who masturbate. None of them are true.

There were even devices in the middle ages padlocked around either sex to prevent masturbation. It’s normal to masturbate. It’s theoretically possible one supposes for someone to have RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) from persistent masturbating but even that seems highly unlikely.

How normal is masturbation?
Many, many people masturbate. As for how often, it seems everything from once every week or two, to one a day to several times a day. As with sex itself, there’s a whole range of normality.

How dare my partner masturbate!
It may come as a shock to some people, but many people masturbate even though they have healthy loving relationships. Sometimes a man or woman will need some quick sexual relief, and it's inappropriate or impractical to request sex with their partner. So if you discover your partner masturbating or they confess it’s something they occasionally do, don’t be offended or think they no longer love you or find you desirable. They may just need the occasional release.
