What we think with is our conscious mind. Habits and other forms of behaviour that are automatic are generated by our subconscious mind.
It’s easy to run your life on automatic habitual behaviours, and more difficult to think, and behave consciously.
Whenever you do something without thinking, you’ve done it with your subconscious mind. The scary thing is how much we do subconsciously in our lives and how rarely we take conscious control.
Become a conscious good lover, and not a subconscious bad lover
It’s easy to do things that make us feel good, rather than considering the needs of others, and sex is no different. It’s easy to do the things in bed that we find pleasurable without thinking whether the other person finds it pleasurable.
It’s easy to slip into the”same old, same old” where you do the same old things you’ve always done. It’s easy to drive the same route in a car over and over again using a subconscious “automatic pilot”. It’s also easy to do the same old things in bed. Use your conscious mind to vary things.
Use the power of your subconscious to become a great lover
Whatever you believe with emotional intensity becomes true for you, in any aspect of your life. Whatever you consciously tell yourself (e.g. a man may believe he has the power to create an O Switch so he can delay orgasm) becomes part of your belief system which is then supported by your subconscious mind.
Creating a new picture of yourself in your mind (e.g. as a great lover), and supporting that with references (such as how much you turned your partner on) reaffirms that picture in your subconscious.. You can “think yourself” into becoming a great lover.
The power of thought to change reality
Philosophers and writes through the ages have recognised our ability to change our world by changing the way we think. Shakespeare said “thinking makes it so” and the Buddha said “with our thoughts we make our world”. The recent psychological approaches of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) are examples of how we can change ourselves through the power of thought.
Conscious thoughts drive subconscious behaviours
It’s not that we think something and then a magician says “Abracadabra” and magically it becomes true. Rather once we believe something powerfully, we effectively rewire our subconscious. We rewire ourselves to behave differently, without consciously thinking about it.
